Aims and Objectives:
Academic Excellence: Ensuring high-quality education through effective teaching methods, relevant curriculum.
Skill Development: Equipping students with practical programming skills, problem-solving abilities, and familiarity with the latest technologies in the field
Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess and improve the department’s performance based on feedback from stakeholders, including students, faculty, and industry partners.
Student Engagement: Organizing workshops, seminars, hackathons and other events to keep students engaged and connected to the field.
Infrastructure:
- Library: We have a central Library, consists of text and reference books, which are beneficial for students and teachers. 60 books are kept in the departmental library.
- Wi-Fi Internet facilities for Staff and Students: Our department has six computers with internet facility for the staff and students. The faculty and students are regularly utilizing it. Our students are well acquainting about various geographical phenomena and recent information about the different branches of Geography with the help of this facility.
- Class rooms with ICT facility: We have one class room with ICT facility. LCD projector connected to the computer having internet facility. Faculty can explain the subject matter with the help of educational site. Faculty has prepared Power Point Presentations regarding different topics for all the classes to explain subject matter. Department has five license copies of the Global Mapper soft ware, which are open to the student for learning .
- Laboratories: The size of the Departmental Laboratory is 33 ft X 18 ft. Geographical laboratory consists of the various survey and weather instruments, GPS, atlas, wall maps, three dimensional models, Globe , toposheets, weather maps , aerial photographs , satellite imaginaries
